This artist has been visiting my dreams, or perhaps I have visited hers?

Sara Ogren! Just found this artist today on flicker! She makes collages, sculptures, Artist trading cards, ACEO's. (ACEO stands for "Art Cards, Editions and Originals". These cards have one main rule - they are 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches - the size of a trading card.)
I feel like she has been walking in my brain.
I feel I found someone who was visiting my dreams, or perhaps I have visited hers?
I am really excited.(Can you tell?)
*Today my theme is collage and sketching. I was making little collages for years. I love animal heads on children bodies. I have been trying to start a painting a day. Now I am going to spend some time on sketches and collage in preparation for larger paintings.
Thank you Sara Ogren!

My new 'dogs in clothes' series, featuring Gordon my Boston Terrier.

This is how I am doing it right now. I am inspired by vintage photos and folk art. I painted the boys body, and added Gordon's face. (Yes, his ears really are this big :) He has some French bulldog in him.

Images of Little Red Red Riding hood calling me to paint.

Images of Little Red Red Riding hood are calling me to paint.
I have been thinking about the major themes of little red riding hood for months. A few weeks ago I painted a picture of a pug (Lolly Red Riding Hood) wandering carelessly through the forest. She is painted in a flatter folk art style, with some expressionist trees in the background.(For comments on what inspires me in American folk Art see my other art blog, http://strangeandluscious.blogspot.com/)
Themes of forests, and warnings, and hidden darkness are inspiring me.
Surprisingly 'Lolly Red' turned out to be more funny because she looks so carefree.
Nice site with a collection of 'Little Red' images

This is the image that inspired me to paint 'Lolly Red's' cape.
I think this theme is going to flow into my figurative paintings as well.
